Job Title: VOB Admissions Specialist

Position Type: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Purpose of Your Role
The VOB Admissions Specialist will work with the admissions team in order to verify each client’s eligibility and verify their benefits prior to each admission.

Success Indicators/KPIs
100% accuracy on verification of benefits and the documentation of them
100% of financial contracts are signed and first deposits collected prior to admission
100% of VOB’s completed within 1 hour of request
Competencies
Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrate knowledge of insurance benefits
Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with insurance payors and obtain benefit information
Demonstrate ability to organize a system to maintain initial and all subsequent verification of benefits

Responsibilities
Ability to work in person from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday in Orem
Adheres to all company policies and procedures
Contact insurance companies to verify patient insurance coverage
Maintain a system for initial and subsequent verification of benefits
Document all communication and benefit information accurately in EHR
Acquires accurate benefits, including co-pays, co-insurance, deductible, etc.
Communicates with clients to answer any questions or concerns clients have regarding their benefits
Audit all financial contracts and obtains required signatures or payments as needed from client prior to admission
Works closely with admissions team and supervisor to oversee all verification of benefits and eligibility
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
The Skills and Expertise You Have
Significant knowledge of verification of benefits, eligibility, single case agreements and pre-auth
Accurate and efficient electronic data entry
Must be punctual and maintain excellent attendance
Organized, detail-oriented, takes the initiative, and completes job responsibilities independently
Multitask, problem-solve, interpersonal skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills
Thrives in a changing work environment, including inside, outside, and loud noise level
Pass a full criminal background check
Elligible to work in the US
High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years experience in customer service, billing, or utilization review
Familiarity with medical terminology and medical billing practice
Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience as a billing coordinator or similar position
Working knowledge of EMR software
2 years or more experience working as a VOB or billing specialist
2 years or more experience working in behavioral health field
